IFFCO posts record pre-tax profit of Rs 4,106 cr

In a landmark achievement for the Indian cooperative sector, the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) has clocked an all-time high pre-tax profit of over Rs 4,106 crore for the financial year 2025–26. Announcing the results, IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani described the performance as a “saga of victory” and a testament to the enduring spirit of the cooperative movement.
The fertiliser major, which began its journey in 1967 with a modest 57 societies, now stands as a global titan representing over 36,000 societies. Sanghani attributed the success to the hard work of farmers and the dedication of employees, while expressing “heartfelt gratitude” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central leadership for their constant guidance.
The financial year saw IFFCO setting new benchmarks in logistics and demand fulfilment. The cooperative recorded sales of 118.75 lakh metric tonnes of fertilisers, against a nationwide supply of 119.68 lakh metric tonnes. The Chairman noted that the rising sales of urea and DAP have further solidified IFFCO’s pivotal role in ensuring national food security.
A significant highlight of the year was the rapid adoption of nano-fertiliser technology. Sales of nano-products exceeded 30.1 lakh bottles, with Nano Urea Plus and Nano DAP emerging as cost-effective, eco-friendly alternatives for the farming community.
“We have paved the way for a new revolution in Indian agriculture,” Sanghani said, highlighting that Nano NPK Liquid and Granular variants have been notified under the Fertiliser Control Order — a world first. To meet growing demand, IFFCO inaugurated its fourth nano-fertiliser plant in Devanahalli, Bengaluru, boosting total production capacity to nearly 950,000 bottles per day.
Beyond balance sheets, the cooperative has made significant strides in social responsibility. Effective November 1, 2025, IFFCO implemented a guaranteed minimum wage of Rs 20,000 per month for contract employees, a move that benefited thousands and cost the organisation approximately Rs 140 crore.
On the international front, IFFCO’s footprint now spans 40 countries. Plans are currently underway to establish a joint venture for nano-fertiliser production in Brazil, taking Indian innovation to the global stage.
Reiterating the organisation’s commitment to the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’, Sanghani emphasised that IFFCO would continue to harmonise modern technology with organic practices. He also thanked Union Ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan for their unwavering support in navigating global supply chain challenges.
