IACCIA launch signals India, Arab economic convergence

At a time of accelerating geopolitical and economic transformation, India and the Arab world are advancing toward a more structured and forward-looking partnership. The India and Arab Countries Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (IACCIA) was officially launched in New Delhi on the sidelines of the 2nd India–Arab Ministerial Summit, underscoring the Chamber’s strategic relevance and institutional importance.
The launch alongside a ministerial-level platform highlights the growing recognition by both sides that economic cooperation must move in tandem with political and diplomatic engagement. It positions IACCIA as a key implementation mechanism to translate high-level political understandings into tangible trade, investment, and industrial outcomes, said Dr Waiel Awwad IACCIA Secretary General in charge.
Rooted in millennia of civilizational exchange, IACCIA is designed to respond to contemporary global challenges, including supply-chain reconfiguration, investment facilitation, energy transition, food security, and technology collaboration. The Chamber aims to transform historical ties into modern, results-oriented economic partnerships that serve mutual interests.
Headquartered in New Delhi, IACCIA will function as a permanent institutional bridge between India and the Arab world, facilitating business-to-business engagement, promoting cross-border investments, enabling public-private collaboration, and supporting structured dialogue among policymakers, investors, and industry leaders.
The alignment of India’s expanding manufacturing and innovation ecosystem with the Arab world’s capital resources, logistics infrastructure, and regional connectivity positions the Chamber as a catalyst for deeper South–South cooperation and a more resilient, multipolar global economic order.
The launch of IACCIA at the 2nd India–Arab Ministerial Summit reflects a shared commitment to elevating economic relations to a strategic level—anchored in partnership, pragmatism, and long-term vision, said Dr Waiel Awwad IACCIA Secretary General (in charge).
