FIR filed against five women after alleged abuse of toddlers at Bengaluru IT campus daycare

A disturbing case of alleged child abuse has emerged from a daycare centre operating inside an IT company campus in Brookefield, Bengaluru, where an FIR has been registered against five women caregivers under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
The case came to light after videos showing the alleged abuse were shared with the Child Helpline and the District Child Protection Unit.
According to the complaint, the caregivers allegedly subjected toddlers aged between two and four years to physical and mental abuse whenever they cried or became restless. The alleged acts included placing children inside a front-loading washing machine to intimidate them, locking them in washrooms, making them sit on toilet commodes, and spraying water into their mouths using a toilet jet.
Police said more than 15 children may have been present at the facility during the incidents.
The HAL Police have launched an investigation and are verifying the authenticity of the videos, identifying affected children, and questioning the accused caregivers. The incident has sparked outrage and renewed concerns about child safety and monitoring standards at corporate daycare centres.
