Eviction notice for Congress

The Congress Party and its youth wing, the Indian Youth Congress, have received eviction notices from the Estate Department to vacate their long-standing offices at 24, Akbar Road and 5, Raisina Road in Lutyens’ Delhi by March 28.
The Akbar Road office has served as the Congress headquarters since 1978, while the IYC operates from the Raisina Road premises. Sources said the notice was delivered only a few days ago, giving the party less than a week to comply. Congress has already built a new office at Indira Bhawan near ITO, but the move to the new premises has not yet been fully implemented.
While the Congress is yet to announce a formal response, the IYC is expected to seek an extension of the March 28 deadline and is exploring legal options.
