DIKSHa Bokaro shines with Most Innovative win at IIT Dhanbad Gala

Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Bharat Ltd, celebrated a milestone as its DIKSHa Bokaro trainees clinched the ‘Most Innovative Idea’ award at IIT ISM Dhanbad during National Startup Day. The honour came for developing a sustainable stove powered by discarded burnt engine oil, offering a low-cost energy solution.
The ceremony drew Deputy Commissioner of Dhanbad Aditya Ranjan, top entrepreneurs, Jharkhand Entrepreneurs Association members, and Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC) representatives. Launched in 2023 with SAIL, DIKSHa Bokaro offers training in five trades.
It has skilled over 1,000 youth with a 75 per cent placement rate. Momentum built after MSME Chairman Shashi Bhushan Srivastava’s visit and social media post, leading IIT ISM to host a National Industrial Exhibition-cum-Seminar at the centre on December 15, 2025.
The project, selected via rigorous national evaluation including online pre-screening, was crafted by trainees Sameer Bahadur, Vishal Kumar, and Sahil Kumar under instructor Ramanuj Sharma’s guidance, backed by the DIKSHa team. The centre received a citation and Rs 35,000 cash prize.
Unit Head DCBL Bokaro Sunil Kumar K Bhusari said: “We at Dalmia Bharat are proud to see DIKSHa students earn national recognition for an innovation blending sustainability with real-world use. This reflects our commitment to skill education that fosters innovation, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship among rural youth.” Through DIKSHa, DBF bolsters skill development and innovation, empowering rural youth for livelihoods and sustainable growth.
