DFCCIL starts JPP-RCS on Western Dedicated Freight Corridor

Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) has commenced the Joint Parcel Product - Rapid Cargo Service (JPP-RCS) on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), marking an important step towards strengthening rail-based parcel logistics and providing faster, reliable and scheduled transportation solutions for cargo transportation.
The service was launched by Manoj Singh, Member (Operations & Business Development), Railway Board, in the august presence of Praveen Kumar, Managing Director, DFCCIL; Deepak Jha, Adviser (Commercial), Railway Board; Shyam Sundar Gupta, Principal Executive Director (Infrastructure), Railway Board; and Navin Kumar Parsuramka, Principal Executive Director (Coaching), Railway Board.
The JPP-RCS has commenced on the New Dadri (Uttar Pradesh/Delhi NCR) — New Motidau (Mehsana, Gujarat) — New Ancheli (Navsari, Gujarat) route, with the originating service from New Dadri commencing on August 18. The return service from New Ancheli to New Dadri will commence on August 20, with the service operating daily.
The service is designed to cater to e-commerce, FMCG, retail cargo, courier and logistics aggregators, transporters and other bulk parcel customers.
The service will cover approximately 1,200 km one way, connecting major logistics and industrial centres across the northern and western regions of the country. New Motidau will serve as an intermediate loading and unloading point, providing greater flexibility for parcel operators and customers. The service will operate as a scheduled end-to-end service with a composition of 15 LVPH and one SLR, with a scheduled transit time of approximately 23 hours.
The JPP-RCS brings together the strengths of the Dedicated Freight Corridor and the Indian Railways JPP-RCS framework, and it is being patronised by Amazon and Harsh Logistics and is based on indents placed through the FBD portal, alongside other major e-commerce and supply chain partners.
