Four of a family from Telangana die as car plunges into well

A couple and their two children died after their car plunged into a roadside well in Siddipet district of Telangana, police said on Thursday.

The incident occurred on the outskirts of Appanapally in Dubbak mandal late on Wednesday evening.

The man is said to have lost control of the vehicle, following which it fell in the 22-feet depth well.

The deceased, who hail from Balavanthapur village, were returning from Siddipet after attending a relative's ritual programme, the official said.

Police who launched an investigation located the vehicle in the well around midnight.

After an operation, the car with the occupants inside it was retrieved from the well in the early hours of Thursday, but the four family members were found dead due to drowning, the official added.

A case was registered and investigation is on.
