Delhi Police tighten security at Jantar Mantar ahead of Parliament march call

Delhi Police have stepped up security arrangements at Jantar Mantar ahead of a proposed march to Parliament on Monday, coinciding with the start of the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Authorities said heightened vigil has been put in place to maintain law and order amid calls for the protest.
Police have deployed additional personnel, erected barricades and intensified surveillance in and around Jantar Mantar and key routes leading towards Parliament. Security checks have also been strengthened at strategic locations across the national capital.
According to Delhi Police, organisers of the proposed march have not obtained the required permission to hold the protest or proceed towards Parliament. Officials said no unauthorised gathering or march will be allowed, and legal action may be taken against any violation of prohibitory orders. Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) remains in force in the area.
The security arrangements come amid ongoing demonstrations at Jantar Mantar and concerns over possible attempts by protesters to march towards Parliament on the opening day of the Monsoon Session. Police said they are monitoring the situation closely and have appealed to people to cooperate with security personnel and follow lawful directions.
