Congress spreading panic amidst crisis, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a scathing attack on Congress terming the party Rajneeti ke gidh (vultures of politics) during two public address in Gujarat on Tuesday. “Today, the Congress party is busy inciting the people. Like political vultures, it (Congress) is waiting for the situation to escalate so that it can exploit and reap political dividends,” the PM said at a gathering in Nani village in Vav Tharad district of Gujarat. “The Congress desires to create an atmosphere of panic in the country, hoping that the people will be forced to queue up at petrol pumps and gas agencies,” he added.
The PM further said while the world is grappling with war, unrest, and rising fuel prices, India has managed the situation effectively due to strong foreign policy and the unity of its people.
In a function in Sanad, PM Modi said the 21st century has brought several challenges and global supply chains have been affected due to conflicts, emphasising that the Government is laying a strong foundation for technology and energy security in the coming decades.
The Prime Minister noted that though fuel prices have risen by as much as 10 per cent globally due to the West Asia conflict, the Union Government is ensuring that the burden of this impact does not fall upon people.
Modi asserted that India will emerge as a world leader in the renewable energy sector. He said the circumstances in West Asia have affected every country, but India managed the situation well. Continuing his attack on the Opposition, PM Modi said they want to spread anarchy. “India is capable of facing any crisis,” he added.
PM Modi inaugurated Kaynes Semicon’s outsourced semiconductor plant in Sanand, marking the commencement of production, and said India is strengthening its role as a reliable semiconductor supplier in the global market.In a sense, a new bridge has emerged today between Sanand and Silicon Valley, he said.Addressing a gathering on the occasion, Modi said India is actively building a robust semiconductor ecosystem and simultaneously making significant efforts to establish a resilient supply chain for raw materials.Modi noted that when the Coronavirus pandemic disrupted supply chains, India had decided to become a hub of semiconductor manufacturing.

India’s participation in Pax Silica is a testament to this very endeavour. Working in tandem with our global partners, we aim to ensure a secure supply chain,” Modi added.
India recently joined Pax Silica, a US-led strategic coalition launched in December 2025 to secure critical technology supply chains, with a special focus on semiconductors, AI, and rare earth elements.
“Furthermore, to achieve self-reliance in critical minerals, India has launched the National Critical Minerals Mission,” Modi said, adding that this mission emphasises mining and production of critical minerals. Modi said that in 2021, India launched the India Semiconductor Mission, which is not just an industrial policy but a declaration of India’s confidence.
The PM also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects totalling Rs 19,806.9 crore, including INR 10,921 crore under Union ministries and Rs 8,886 crore under Gujarat Government departments.
