Congress rejects Karnataka CM change speculation, calls it baseless rumours

The Congress party has rejected speculation about a possible change in the Karnataka Chief Minister, calling such reports baseless and without any factual basis.
Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal said there was “no reality” to the claims of leadership change and dismissed the ongoing political buzz as mere speculation.
“Whatever speculation you people are doing, that is only speculation. No reality at all,” Venugopal told reporters outside Indira Bhawan.
He clarified that discussions within the party leadership were focused on organisational matters, particularly the upcoming Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections in Karnataka.
Venugopal added that the party is preparing for Rajya Sabha and council polls across multiple states, including Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand.
“Today we discussed Rajya Sabha seats and council seats of Karnataka. The candidates will be announced along with other states,” he said.
The statement comes amid renewed political chatter regarding internal power dynamics in Karnataka, which the Congress leadership has consistently denied.
Party leaders reiterated that there is no discussion on changing the Chief Minister and that the focus remains on upcoming legislative and organisational responsibilities.
