CM Suvendu promises one lakh jobs in West Bengal

Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Monday offered himself to be evaluated on the anniversary of his Government’s coming to power in saying he was confident of scoring score 90 percent marks in terms of fulfilling the NDA Government’s promises.
Adhikari, who inaugurated a Rs 1,296 water supply project in Manbazar area of Purulia district besides promising a plethora of other developmental schemes, said “exactly one year after my Government completes its anniversary I will sit for an evaluation test and I am confident of getting 9 out of ten marks and if I score a single mark less then I will publicly apologise for my failure.”
The Chief Minister also promised creation of one lakh jobs in the coming year. “Unlike in the previous Government, every appointment scheme would be transparent… we will appoint 1 lakh jobs for school teachers, in the police force” and other areas, he said.
Reminding that the NDA Government completed its 100 days in power on Monday Adhikari said “on this day, we are launching a drinking water project in Purulia... this project did not materialize despite repeated promises made to the people by the powers that be the people of Purulia district did not have drinking water supply even when the country is celebrating its 80th Independence Day… but now things will rapidly change.”
Reminding how his Government had initiated rapid industrialisation by inaugurating Amul milk production project at Howrah, a steel plant at Mejia in Bankura district, besides launching for the first time the Ayushmaan Bharat health scheme in Bengal, the Chief Minister said his Government was in the process of starting the 125-days work (G-RAM-G) scheme. In the coming six months, Rs 12,000 crore would be spent, and every panchayat would get Rs 50 lakh worth of developmental schemes, he said, adding, “the youth would get work as Rs 345,500 crore would be spent in 12 months” under the various rural schemes.
The Chief Minister also took part in the bhoomi pujan (groundbreaking ceremony), laying the foundation stone for the Amit Metaliks plant spanning 148 acres in Durmot Mouza, Raghunathpur, also in Purulia district. The project would create thousands of local jobs and curb out-migration.
In what looked like a smart move to preempt a recent push by the CJP to raise the infrastructural issues in rural schools Adhikari said “the Government is giving extra stress on infrastructure building in schools, new schools will come up, schools will be provided with Aqua Guard drinking filtered water facilities, clean lavatories and sanitary enclosures,” he said adding 30 lakh houses would be constructed for the poor in PM housing scheme.
