CJP leaders Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka detained by Delhi Police while heading to Jantar Mantar

Delhi Police detained Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka on Tuesday as they attempted to reach Jantar Mantar, police sources said.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said in a post on X that several other members of the group, including Ajinkya Shinde, had also been taken into custody.
Dipke said the party members had entered Jantar Mantar early in the morning carrying the national flag before police detained them. He named Ranka, Das and Shinde among those detained and asserted that the move would not stop the group's resistance.
"You cannot denotify the resistance," Dipke wrote, tagging Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The CJP founder also shared a video showing members of the group jumping over a gate to enter Jantar Mantar while raising slogans, including "Bharat Mata ki Jai". The footage shows police personnel approaching the group and taking hold of its members.
The detentions took place amid heightened security in the national capital, with various organisations calling for protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Delhi Police has deployed additional personnel at several locations across the city to maintain law and order.
