Budget ignored Telangana’s needs, says Congress MP

Congress MP Mallu Ravi said the Union Budget has disappointed the people of the country and disappointed the people of Telangana in particular, as all requests made by the Chief Minister and other Ministers have been ignored.
“We demanded a special package, national project status, and funds for Hyderabad infrastructure, but none were provided. There is no mention of the Hyderabad Metro. Usually, issues related to states are discussed in the Budget, but not this time,” said Mallu at a Press conference in the national Capital.
He went on to say that, leaving aside present-day India and focusing only on 2047, the Government has ignored current problems.
“Unemployment is a major issue in the country. Ignoring the unemployment problem is unjust. In the last 11 years, jobs should have been provided to 22 crore people, but since 2014, budgets have been favouring corporate institutions. The growth rate has no real meaning. It is a growth rate that does not benefit common people. The gap between the rich and the poor is increasing,” Ravi said.
Mallu regretted that national status was not granted to the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project, and there is no special package for backward districts.
