Bihar Court grants interim relief to Khan Sir in coaching institute firing case

A Bihar court on Saturday granted interim relief to noted educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, during the hearing of his anticipatory bail plea in connection with the firing and vandalism case linked to his coaching institute in Patna. The court upheld its earlier 'no coercive action' order, directing police not to take any harsh action against him until the next hearing.
The case stems from a June 2 incident in which a group allegedly vandalised the Khan Global Studies Institute and pelted stones at the premises. During the investigation, police recovered video footage that purportedly showed two individuals engaging in aerial firing after the vandalism. Two security guards associated with the institute were later arrested.
Based on the probe and recovery of weapons, Patna Police registered an FIR against Khan Sir and two others under provisions related to abetment and the Arms Act. Investigators said the accused were named following an examination of the sequence of events and evidence collected during the investigation.
Khan Sir has denied wrongdoing and previously alleged that rival coaching centres were behind the attack on his institute. Meanwhile, police have appealed to students not to be influenced by rivalry between coaching institutes and have assured strict action to maintain law and order. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
