Armed Forces Jawan Among 4 Arrested for Attacking Police During Kerala Anti-Drug Drive

Four men, including an armed forces jawan on leave, have been arrested for allegedly attacking police officers during an anti-drug enforcement drive under Operation Toofan in Kerala's Palakkad district. The incident took place during a late-night vehicle inspection at Pazhampully, where police stopped a car for routine checks.
According to police, the occupants of the vehicle were heavily intoxicated. One of the accused, identified as Jinesh, allegedly became aggressive during the inspection and assaulted police personnel, including the sub-inspector. When other officers tried to intervene, they too were reportedly attacked.
Three more men travelling in the vehicle allegedly joined the assault before additional police personnel arrived and brought the situation under control.
The four accused have been booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including attempt to commit culpable homicide. They were later produced before a court for remand. The incident occurred as part of Operation Toofan, a statewide campaign launched by Kerala Police to crack down on drug-related offences and strengthen law enforcement across the state.
