Amit Shah inaugurates barracks for women personnel in Rajasthan, praises role in border security

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated new barracks for women security personnel in Rajasthan during his visit to border areas and praised the growing contribution of women in strengthening India’s border security framework.
Addressing security personnel, Shah said women personnel have made remarkable contributions in several areas of border management and security operations.
“Women have contributed more than men to border security in many aspects,” the Home Minister said while interacting with personnel during the programme.
The newly inaugurated barracks are aimed at improving residential and operational facilities for women deployed in border areas. Officials said the initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to enhance infrastructure and welfare measures for security forces posted in difficult terrains.
During the visit, Amit Shah reviewed security arrangements along the international border and interacted with Border Security Force personnel stationed in Rajasthan. He also discussed measures related to border surveillance, welfare schemes and strengthening infrastructure in sensitive frontier regions.
The Home Minister emphasised that the government remains committed to improving facilities for women serving in paramilitary and border guarding forces. He noted that increasing participation of women in frontline security duties reflects changing dynamics within India’s defence and security framework.
Shah’s visit to Rajasthan is part of a larger tour of border states aimed at reviewing preparedness, boosting morale among personnel and assessing infrastructure development projects in strategic areas.
