Adani overtakes Mukesh Ambani as Asia’s richest

Gautam Adani is now the richest person in Asia. The billionaire has overtaken Mukesh Ambani. This comes on the back of gains in Adani Group stock values. Ambani was Asia’s richest for many years before this shift.
As per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index latest data, Gautam Adani’s net worth has climbed to $92.6 billion, helping him secure the top spot in Asia and placing him 19th globally. Mukesh Ambani, who had long held the position, now follows closely with a net worth of $90.8 billion, ranking 20th in the world. Interestingly, the share price of Adani Group companies surged on Friday. The Adani Power share price was up nearly 1 per cent. Adani Total Gas was up over 2 per cent. Adani Green Energy gained 0.44 per cent while Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone were up 1.6 per cent. Many other Adani firms were also trading in the green.
While the gap remains narrow, the change highlights the volatile nature of global wealth movements. The latest shift between Adani and Ambani underlines how closely contested the top ranks remain, with market movements continuing to influence the balance of power among the world’s richest individuals.
