7 Killed in twin roadside blasts in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

At least 7 people were killed and three others injured in twin roadside explosions in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday, officials said.
The first blast occurred in the Marka Bera area of Bannu district when an improvised explosive device (IED) struck a passenger van. The powerful explosion killed five people on the spot and left several others injured.
Shortly after the initial attack, a second explosion hit the same location, targeting people who had gathered for rescue and relief operations. Two more people were killed in the second blast, taking the death toll to seven.
Authorities said security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched a search and investigation operation. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far. The incident highlights the continuing security challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a region that has witnessed repeated militant violence and bomb attacks in recent years.
