6 CRPF personnel injured after vehicle skids off road in J&K's Ganderbal

Six personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured after the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road near the Sonamarg tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Friday. The accident took place on the Srinagar–Leh National Highway, a key route connecting Kashmir with Ladakh.
According to officials, the CRPF vehicle lost control and veered off the road, leaving six personnel injured. Emergency responders quickly reached the spot, provided first aid, and shifted the injured to a nearby CRPF camp at Gund for further medical treatment. Officials said all the injured personnel are receiving necessary care, and no fatalities have been reported.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest the vehicle skidded near the tunnel stretch, though officials have not confirmed whether weather, road conditions, or any mechanical issue played a role.
The incident comes as security forces remain deployed across the region for operational duties and to ensure the smooth conduct of the annual Amarnath Yatra.
