17 Namo Bharat stations to close entry-exit gates from August 4-12

Several entry and exit gates of 17 Namo Bharat stations between Ghaziabad and Modipuram will remain closed from August 4 to 12 in view of the ongoing Kanwar Yatra, the NCRTC said on Monday, adding that the space for parking will also be limited at these stations.

The temporary restrictions have been imposed in accordance with administrative directions to facilitate security and traffic management during the annual pilgrimage, said the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), the implementing and operating agency for Namo Bharat.

The affected stations are Modipuram, Meerut North, MES Colony, Begumpul, Bhaisali, Meerut Central, Brahampuri, Shatabdi Nagar, Rithani, Partapur, Meerut South, Modinagar North, Modinagar South, Muradnagar, Duhai, Guldhar and Ghaziabad, the corporation said.

At most stations, Gate No. 2 will remain closed during the period. At Begumpul, Gates 2 and 3 will remain shut, while at Duhai, Gates 3 and 4 will be closed.

At Ghaziabad station, Gates 3 and 5 will remain closed. Parking facilities on the affected side of these stations will also remain unavailable, it stated.

The NCRTC advised passengers to use the alternate entry and exit gates available at the respective stations to access Namo Bharat services and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.

It said Namo Bharat train services will continue to operate normally across the entire Sarai Kale Khan-Modipuram corridor. Trains will run every eight minutes from 6 am to 10 pm daily until August 14.
