World Tuberculosis Day was organized on 24 March 2025 by the Ministry of Health, Government of India at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi, in which representatives from all the states participated. In this program, the states performing better in the field of TB were honoured by the Union Health Minister JP Nadda, in the same sequence, Jharkhand state was awarded the award for increasing the notification of TB patients, which was received by State Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Kamlesh Kumar, it is known that in the state last year in 2023, 60547 TB patients were notified and in the year 2024, an increase was registered and it increased to around 63755.
This is the result of successful supervision and implementation of the active TB search campaign and 100-day intensive TB search campaign (from 7 December 2024 to 17 March 2025 in four districts of the state, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Simdega and Gumla district), which was reviewed by the Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, Additional Secretary of the Department Chief Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh and National Health Mission's Campaign Director Abu Imran have been reviewing the TB eradication program from time to time. The Campaign Director congratulated the officials and employees on this achievement and said that they will continue to work in the same way so that the goal of TB eradication can be achieved on time.
In this program, District TB Officers of Koderma, Ramgarh, Chatra, Chaibasa and Latehar along with State Program Manager NHM, Anima Kisko were also present.
