The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Midtown (RCJMT) took a significant step toward enhancing mental health awareness and support with the inauguration of the "Darpan: Mental Health Clinic" at Sidhu Kanhu Shiksha Niketan (SKSN) recently. The clinic was officially inaugurated by District Governor (DG) Bipin Chachan, in the presence of Assistant Governor (AG) Nikita Mehta and club members.
RCJMT President Preeti Saini addressed the attendees, highlighting the club’s commitment to mental health by introducing the clinic, which aims to provide essential mental health services to the students and local community. The inauguration ceremony was a milestone for the club, furthering its mission to serve and empower the community through accessible healthcare services.
Following the inauguration, career counselor Mr. Niraj Kumar conducted an hour-long interactive session on career counseling for the students. This session, organized in response to student demand, provided valuable guidance on career paths and was met with great enthusiasm by the students.
The DG and attendees were also shown the various initiatives undertaken by the club, including the bicycles donated to female students under the "Magic of Rotary" program. A newly constructed toilet facility for girls, along with the renovated library filled with books donated by the club, was also highlighted as part of the club's ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure at SKSN.
After the site visit, the team returned to Hotel Boulevard, where the Club Assembly was followed by a Public Meeting. The meeting began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome speech from President Preeti Saini, who presented an overview of the club's signature projects during the year.
One of the highlights of the Public Meeting was the charter certificate presentation and installation of the newly formed Rotaract Club of Jamshedpur Humanitarians and Interact Club of CPS Warriors. DG Bipin Chachan presented the charter certificates to the respective club Presidents and members. AG Nikita Mehta read the oath of commitment, while First Lady Shilpi Chachan handed over pins to the Presidents, Office Bearers, and members of the new clubs.
AG Nikita Mehta shared her insights with the audience, followed by Secretary Rajeshwar Jaiswal, who gave the Secretary's announcements.
