As per the National Invention Campaign under Samagra Shiksha, 2400 meritorious students of the State will be given an educational tour. In this regard, a MoU was signed between Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), an undertaking of the Ministry of Railways, Government of India and Jharkhand Education Project Council on Friday.
Under the National Invention Campaign, 100 meritorious students from all the districts of the State along with 3 supervisors have been included in this tour. IRCTC will provide educational tours to the students in three phases.
In the first phase, 800 students from eight districts will be taken on a tour of Varanasi from January 20 to January 23. After this, in the second phase, a tour will be conducted to Puri from January 25 to January 27 while in the third phase a tour to Kolkata will be conducted from January 30 to February 2.
While giving information about the educational tour, SDEO Abhishek Jha said that the objective of the National Invention Campaign is to encourage innovation at the school level as well as to promote creative thinking among meritorious students. The aim is to increase children's interest in education by encouraging experimental activities. In this series, meritorious students are being taken on educational tours, so that they get an opportunity to see and understand the concepts of the curriculum in real life.
Sharing information about the tour, Additional General Manager of IRCTC Tourism, Krishna Kumar Singh said that 'Bharat Gaurav Train' has been arranged by the Railways for the educational tour of the students. This train has been started with the aim of promoting India's rich cultural heritage, historical sites and religious traditions. With attractive interiors, children will be able to travel comfortably while Indian cuisine will also be arranged for the students by IRCTC. Railways will also arrange for accommodation, food and guided tours at the destinations for the children. There will be a total of 11 passenger coaches in the train.
The 2400 meritorious students who will be taken on educational tour under the National Invention Campaign will include students of residential schools, students who have excelled in sports, Olympiad or various competitions at state and national level and such CWSN students who are able to travel. In this regard, Jharkhand Education Project Council has sent a letter to all the districts and directed them to provide the list of students by January 15 while an important meeting regarding the tour has also been scheduled at the State Education Project Council on January 15.
