Students to focus on new technology for better future: congress leader Jai Kishan

New Delhi: Former Sultanpur Majra MLA and senior dalit leader from Delhi Congress, Jai Kishan on Saturday said students should focus on new technology such as AI, data analysts for better future.  He was speaking at the 44th and 41st annual day function of the RD Public Senior Coaching School and NVD Institute of Technology, Krishna Vihar. At this occasion, students were awarded for their performances in the annual exam. On this occasion Satpal Singh (golden medal winning wrestler), Vikas Kalia, Regional Education Director-RDE and SK Gautam, former special commissioners of police were present. School staff, teachers, students and parents were also present. Satpal also spoke on the occasion.

MCD crackdowns on property tax defaulters

New Delhi:  In a crackdown on property tax defaulters, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has attached 88 properties and 87 bank accounts across all zones, recovering approximately `25.75 crore in outstanding dues, a statement said. In Keshav Puram zone, three properties were attached, leading to a recovery of `5.7 lakh, according to the statement.  In City SP zone, 22 properties and 19 bank accounts were attached, resulting in a recovery of `65.24 lakh. Similarly, in Civil Lines zone, 45 properties and nine bank accounts were attached, recovering `187.46 lakh.  In Rohini, four bank accounts were attached, recovering `66.21 lakh. The civic body has warned property owners to clear their dues before the March 31 deadline to avoid similar action. To facilitate payments, all property tax offices in the zones and headquarters will remain open from 10 am to 5 pm, till March 31, the statement said.

Delhi government signs MoU with Centre for skill development of Sikh youth

New Delhi: The Delhi government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for the skill development of Sikh youth, with an allocation of `100 crore to enhance employment opportunities, officials said on Saturday. This initiative will be implemented by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), Industry Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said. Union Minister of Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju and Sirsa visited a gurdwara to seek blessings following the signing of the MoU. Sirsa said Sikh students interested in skill development in any field can approach the DSGMC for training under the programme. Rijiju said the initiative will initially benefit 31,000 youth and will be gradually expanded. He added that the programme aims to generate employment and ensure greater workforce participation among young individuals.
