The/Nudge Indian Administrative Fellowship (IAF), launched as a joint effort of the Government of Jharkhand and The/Nudge Institute, is working rapidly in the major departments of the state. The aim of the fellowship is to make governance more effective and accountable through policy reform, project management and technological innovation.
Finance Department Secretary Prashant Kumar informed that this fellowship will further strengthen the administrative capacity of the Jharkhand government. This is an important step to give an efficient, effective and innovative approach to governance. We believe that the contribution of these fellows will be helpful in policy reforms and effective implementation of government schemes.
He said that all these fellows appointed under IAF have 20+ years of private sector experience. Their aim is to use their expertise to make the government machinery more effective, thereby strengthening the inclusive and sustainable development of the state. In the first two months of the fellowship, the fellows have worked with departmental teams to analyze processes, review data and identify improvement agendas. In the coming months, these fellows will work towards increasing the progress of various projects.
The/Nudge Indian Administrative Fellowship was launched on 3 February 2025 at Project Bhawan, Ranchi in the presence of Prashant Kumar, Secretary, Finance Department, Government of Jharkhand. The main objective of this fellowship is to strengthen policy making, accelerate the effective implementation of schemes, increase the use of innovation and technology in departmental functioning and ensure transparency and accountability in governance.
The/Nudge Indian Administrative Fellowship is an 18-month leadership-oriented program aimed at promoting innovation in governance and policy-making. Under this, the fellows will work on various development projects and schemes in collaboration with senior officials of the state government. The fellows will work on establishing synergy between technological innovation, policy making and governance. They will be helpful in integrating data-driven decision making, digital solutions and new technologies into government processes. The aim of this effort is to promote transparency and efficiency in governance. All these fellows are senior professionals, with an average of 20+ years of experience working in the private sector. They will use their expertise and knowledge to strengthen government projects and improve policy implementation. This will greatly help in the all-round development of Jharkhand and improve the living standards of all citizens.
The/Nudge Institute's effort aims to support administrative reforms and to foster social and economic development in the state. The IAF team informed that soon each fellow will present a detailed work plan on their priority projects to the departmental secretaries, so that the work of the next phase can be expedited.
