Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar said in the 'Ex-Servicemen Maha Sammelan' organized by All India Ex-Servicemen Service Council at Gurunanak School Auditorium, Ranchi today that they are a symbol of dedication, discipline and service spirit towards the nation and their contribution is exemplary for the society and the nation.
The Governor said that the ex-servicemen of our country have been the sentinels of the protection of the borders and even today they are the source of inspiration and pride of the society. Their discipline, courage and dedication are a guide for us. He congratulated the All India Ex-Servicemen Service Council for organizing these brave warriors to serve the society and the nation. He said that the contribution of soldiers is not limited to the battlefield only, their role is unique in historical events like 1965, 1971 and Kargil war as well as in assistance in natural disasters and social upliftment in remote areas. Their services are a symbol of inspiration and strength in every field.
The Governor said that the implementation of historic schemes like “One Rank, One Pension” by Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only provides financial stability to ex-servicemen and their families but also reflects the commitment and sensitivity of the Government. He said that the discipline and leadership skills of ex-servicemen can enrich the society by working in areas like education, rural development, disaster management. He also said that it is our priority to ensure education of the children of ex-servicemen, security of their families and respectable employment opportunities.
The Governor said that ex-servicemen are not only the protectors of the past, they are also the creators of our present and future. It is our moral duty to protect their honour and dignity, which is a proof of true service to the nation. Praising the progress of the organization in Jharkhand, he said that this journey which started from Jamshedpur has expanded to 11 districts of the state. This organization is not only protecting the rights of ex-servicemen but is also actively contributing in the field of education, health and sanitation among the deprived sections of the society, especially in rural areas.
Appreciating the unparalleled support of the families of the soldiers behind their valor, the Governor said that the entire society draws inspiration from their sacrifice and patience. The Sainik Family Welfare Trust, which has taken the responsibility of taking care of the families and dependents of the martyrs, is commendable. The Governor told the ex-servicemen and their family members that their struggle and dedication will not go in vain. The entire country stands with them and will always be ready for their upliftment.
