A free refraction error and eye disease checkup camp was inaugurated by DCP Traffic Sanjay Singh at the busiest Lalghati crossing (Traffic Zone-3) of the capital by Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital today.
Refraction error and eye diseases of 254 truck and heavy vehicle drivers were checked. The drivers were also diagnosed for blood pressure and diabetes. Drivers of buses of inter-state transport service Newgo also attended in large numbers and got their eyes tested.
On this occasion, ACP Vijay Kumar Dubey, Subedar Shri Munendra Mishra, TI Traffic Ramfal Gaur and Ajay Marka, ASI Bachchalal, besides Shailendra Sirothia, Saurabh Jain of Newgo, Trustee Sewa Sadan Suresh Awatramani, Senior Manager Kushal Dharmani, social worker Dr. Murli Bhagtani, Ward Councilor Jagdish Yadav, Jhulelal Market Gandhi Nagar President Khubchand Bhagchandani and Pujya Sindhi Panchayat President Ashok Premani were specially present.
Administrator of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital Anusha Tiwari, senior optometrist Ajay Singh, Sagar Godse and Nilesh Waghmare had also cooperated in organizing the camp.
In the camp, 11 drivers were found to have cataract, 04 had pterygium disease, 152 drivers had complaints of refraction error, 73 drivers had abnormal blood pressure and 54 had diabetes. Out of these, 35 drivers with weak eye-sight were also provided free spectacles while 80 drivers suffering from eye diseases were given drops. 30 drivers suffering from serious eye diseases were advised to go to Sewa Sadan and start their proper treatment.
On this occasion, DCP Traffic Sanjay Singh said that as in previous years this year also camp has been organized with the help of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital under the 'Parwah Yojana' in Road Safety Month-2025.
Periodic eye test of drivers is necessary from the point of view of comprehensive public safety. Shri Sanjay Singh appreciated the services of Sewa Sadan and other institutions, who have helped the traffic police in organizing this camp. Trustee Suresh Awatramani also gave an account of the services of the hospital and the work being done towards blindness control.
