Guv calls for Karmayoga spirit to drive India’s development

Governor Mangubhai Patel stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has reached a historic milestone where it is evident that the 21st century will belong to India. The spirit of Karmayoga, coupled with emotions and committed efforts, is the need of the hour for a developed India. Karmayoga is the path of progressing toward a higher purpose in daily life, serving as an effective means of personal growth, social reform, and service.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is moving forward with commitment on the path of national policy. He highlighted that the state's various languages, dialects, expressions, and gestures are cultural jewels we should be proud of. He also mentioned that students studying languages such as Tamil and Telugu would be encouraged in the state. A committee will be formed, including national experts, for Mission Karmayogi in Madhya Pradesh.

Governor Patel and Chief Minister Yadav made these remarks at the inauguration of the workshop, which was held in the Sandipani Auditorium of Raj Bhavan. Raj Bhavan, Madhya Pradesh, organized the workshop in collaboration with the Higher Education Department, the Private University Regulatory Commission, and United Consciousness.

The Chief Minister was welcomed with a traditional woven stole and a bouquet by Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, Shir K.C. Gupta, and Additional Chief Secretary Anupam Rajan. The event was graced by dignitaries, including Jawaharlal Nehru University Vice-Chancellor Professor Shantishree Dhulipudi Pandit, Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission Bharat Sharan Singh, Director of Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy Ashok Kadel, and Higher Education Commissioner Nishant Barbade.

Patel acknowledged India's remarkable progress in knowledge, science, and economy, establishing a new identity and reputation on the global stage. He remarked that the nation is at a pivotal point where united and determined efforts can shape a new era of national development. He cited examples of developed nations that had once faced similar crossroads but transformed through the dedicated efforts of their citizens.

The Governor stressed that for a developed India, the role of teachers is crucial in shaping future Karmayogis. He emphasized that individuals should work persistently without being concerned about personal gains, success, or failure. Initially, Karmayoga practitioners might face challenges such as worries about outcomes, societal expectations, established norms, and time constraints due to daily responsibilities. However, these obstacles can be overcome with a positive outlook, time management, spiritual practices like meditation, and disciplined reflection.

He called upon heads of educational institutions to integrate the principles of Karmayoga into teaching and research while also promoting voluntary service activities both within and outside university campuses. A stable and dedicated work culture should be fostered, strengthening compassion, empathy, and mutual cooperation within the academic community. The Governor expressed hope that the workshop would illuminate the philosophical and practical dimensions of Karmayoga, serving as a platform for the development of selfless Karmayogis.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav described the "Become a Karmayogi" workshop as an extraordinary initiative. He noted that it is a matter of pride that the revival of Karmic action, which was emphasized by educated Karmayogis 5,000 years ago, is now being rekindled in Madhya Pradesh.
