Garhwa SDM holds meeting on law and order

Saturday, 29 March 2025 | Nityanand Dubey | Garhwa

A sub-divisional level meeting, focusing on law and order in the area, took place on Friday, presided over by Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sanjay Kumar. The attendees included the Sub-divisional Police Officer, all Circle Officers, a trainee Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), administrators from both municipal councils, the Food Safety Officer, all Police Inspectors, and all Station In-charges.

The meeting addressed current issues related to the forthcoming festivals of Eid, Ram Navami, Sarhul, and Chaiti Chhath. Discussions and reviews were carried out on a station-by-station basis.

Kumar instructed all Station In-charges to identify individuals who could potentially disrupt the peace and to immediately recommend action under Section 126 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (Indian Citizen Protection Code). He also directed them to ensure the prompt execution of all notices issued by the SDM court. He urged that any reliable information concerning individuals or groups planning to cause disturbances should be reported without delay for immediate action.

Both the SDM and the Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) instructed the officers present to maintain strict vigilance over biker gangs, who often cause disturbances during festivals. They emphasised the importance of strictly monitoring those driving under the influence, those driving recklessly, and those on two-wheeled vehicles carrying more than two people.

All Circle Officers, Police Inspectors, and Station In-charges present were instructed to hold meetings with DJ operators in their respective areas to inform them of the judicial ban on DJs. DJ operators who fail to attend these meetings should be notified in writing. Strict adherence to the court order regarding the DJ ban is expected, and swift action will be taken against any offenders.

Both municipal councils, all Circle Officers, and Station In-charges were specifically directed to jointly conduct campaigns to remove illegally operating meat, chicken, and fish shops within their areas.
