BR Ambedkar Jayanti Utsav will be celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm on April 14 in Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow), Indore district. As every year, various programs will be organized at the birthplace memorial of Dr. Ambedkar to honor his legacy. The state government has made elaborate arrangements to welcome devotees, ensuring their comfort with provisions for accommodation, food, and drinking water. The grand memorial at his birthplace will be adorned with floral decorations and illuminated with special lighting.

Indore Collector Ashish Singh visited Dr. Ambedkar Nagar on Saturday to review and finalize preparations for the celebrations. He held a meeting with officials overseeing the event arrangements and inspected the memorial to assess the facilities. He also visited Swarg Mandir Mahavidyalaya, where some arrangements will be set up for devotees. The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police (Rural) Hitika Vasal, Additional Superintendent of Police Rupesh Dwivedi, SDM Mhow Rakesh Parmar, and other officials.

The Collector instructed officials to ensure seamless arrangements so that devotees do not face any inconvenience. He emphasized completing all preparations within the stipulated time frame.

As part of the celebrations, a Prabhat Pheri (early morning procession) will be organized on April 14 by Ambedkar Sansthan, covering various areas of Mhow. Additionally, on the night of April 13, a Bhajan Sandhya (devotional music event) will be held at Dr. Ambedkar’s birthplace.

Devotees from across Madhya Pradesh and other states are expected to arrive for the celebrations, with the influx beginning on April 12. Special food arrangements will be made at Swarg Mandir premises, starting from the evening of April 12 and continuing until April 14. Monks attending the event will have separate lodging and dining arrangements at Maheshwari School.

For the convenience of visitors, a sufficient number of temporary toilets will be installed, and water distribution kiosks (pyau) will be set up at multiple locations. Accommodation will be arranged in Dharamshalas, Kent Board Higher Secondary School, and Kent Board Girls School. Additionally, three large domes will be constructed to provide shelter for devotees attending the event.

The preparations reflect the government’s commitment to honoring Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and ensuring a seamless and grand celebration of his birth anniversary.

Collector Ashish Singh instructed the officers to ensure such arrangements so that the devotees do not face any kind of trouble. All preparations should be completed within the stipulated time frame.

It was told that on April 14, 2025, Prabhat Ferry will be taken out by Ambedkar Sansthan in Jayanti Utsav, which will tour the areas of Mhow. On the coming 13 April 2025, Bhajan Sandhya will also be organized by the institute at Ambedkar Birth Place in the night.
