Bokaro Steel Plant’s blast furnace division achieved a new milestone on February 25, with blast furnace #02 producing a record 5,764 tonnes of hot metal in a single day, surpassing the previous best of 5,627 tonnes set on March 26, 2024.
The division also registered its highest-ever daily production of 17,672 tonnes from four blast furnaces, breaking the earlier record of 17,009 tonnes set on January 24, 2025. Additionally, January 2025 saw the plant’s highest monthly hot metal production at 468,010 tonnes, with furnaces 01, 02, and 05 achieving their best-ever outputs.
Director-in-charge Birendra Kumar Tiwari and senior management lauded chief general manager (blast furnace) Shouvik Roy and his team, recognizing the collective effort of supporting departments and contract workers in this achievement.
