On January 2, 2025, Bokaro MLA Shweta Singh and KIMS leader Sangram Singh met SAIL Chairman Amarendu Prakash to address key public concerns in the Bokaro Assembly constituency.
Singh emphasized the urgency of accelerating the Bokaro Steel Plant’s expansion project, which aims to boost production to 12 million tons and create employment opportunities. She also demanded updates on the operationalization of Bokaro Airport, urging SAIL to expedite the transfer of funds to the Airports Authority of India, similar to progress made in Rourkela.
Discussions included the stalled international cricket stadium project, with Singh suggesting its land be handed to the state government if the cricket association cannot proceed. She also proposed allocating vacant city lands to displaced residents and businesses and establishing an ancillary unit to boost local industry and employment.
Singh urged SAIL to align with the aspirations of Bokaro’s citizens and support the state government’s efforts to transform the city into a hub of development and global recognition.
