Aim to make Jharkhand a tourists’ hub: CM

Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said that there are immense possibilities of tourism in Jharkhand. The state government is moving forward with a better action plan to develop Topchanchi Lake located in Dhanbad district as an attractive tourist destination. It is the priority of the state government to identify Topchanchi Lake as an excellent tourist destination by beautifying it in accordance with the environment.

The CM said that Jharkhand is a state located in the lap of nature. This state is surrounded by forests, hills and rivers, special work is being done on the possibilities of tourism so that people of the country and the world get acquainted with the beauty of this state. In order to identify Jharkhand as a tourism hub in the coming days, the Tourism Department, Forest Department and Urban Development Department should work with commitment to promote tourism by establishing better coordination.

Officials kept a PPT presentation of the action plan related to the development of Topchanchi Lake as a tourist destination before the CM at his residential office on Friday. The CM became aware of every aspect of the draft related to the development of Topchanchi Lake and after taking point-wise information, gave many important suggestions and instructions to the officials. The CM instructed the officials to ensure that the tourist spot provides employment to the local people. The officials informed the Chief Minister that the development of Topchanchi Lake will create employment opportunities directly and indirectly.

There is a plan to develop 33 acres of land in and around Topchanchi Lake as a tourist hub, in which facilities like resort, junction, plaza, Activity Park, central park, Nature Park, motor sports park, Music Park, food plaza, cafeteria, boating, go cart will be the center of attraction for tourists.

State Tourism Minister Sudhivya Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretary Urban Development Department Sunil Kumar, Director Tourism Anjali Yadav and Titus Ninan, Rohit Kaushik, Saket Chauhan and others of consultant agency Samarth Infratech Services Pvt. Ltd. were present in the meeting.
