Six road accident deaths in just 3 days of the New Year in Palamu division comprising 3 districts namely Latehar, Garhwa and Palamu division have come as a terrible news in the new year.
The latest death of two today occurred on the NH 75 at Kasiyadeeh under the Satbarwa police station limits wherein intense and dense fog led to a head on collision between a bus and a truck.
According to the officer in charge of the Satbarwa police station Anchit Kumar the Ranchi bound bus coming from Daltonganj had a serious collision with a 16 wheel loaded truck enroute to Daltonganj at Kasiyadeeh,6 kms from the Satbarwa police station.
The truck driver identified as Pushnender Kumar,35 hailing from Uttar Pradesh who was rushed to the mission hospital Tumbagara succumbed to his injuries during treatment in the mission hospital.
One bus passenger, Reeyasat Miyan,52 also died during treatment in the mission hospital.
The bus driver Shashi Pandey, 40, of Garhwa district has been referred to the higher centre in Ranchi. Eight others injured were undergoing treatment in the mission hospital when the report last came in.
On January 1, three youths died on NH 75 at the Manika College site under Latehar district.
One person died in Garhwa district road accident on January 2.
Railways have anti fog devices. But roads have none like that of the railways. Drivers of the buses, lorries, trucks etc just believe in throwing caution to the wind.
