The Guru Bhola Nath Music Utsav at Kamani Auditorium celebrated the legacy of Pandit Bhola Nath Prasanna through captivating performances of Indian classical music

The annual festival, honouring the legendary flautist Pandit Bhola Nath Prasanna, was a tribute to the timeless beauty of Indian classical music, celebrating the sacred bond between guru and disciple. The evening began with a breathtaking violin recital by Padma Bhushan N. Rajam, a maestro known for her unparalleled mastery of the instrument. Accompanied by her equally talented disciple, Nandini Shankar and the skilled Pandit Abhishek Mishra on tabla, the performance was a seamless fusion of tradition and artistry. Rajam’s violin flowed effortlessly, creating a soundscape that transported the audience into a world of tranquillity. Yet, the heart of the festival was Pandit Ajay Prasanna’s flute recital. As the son and disciple of Pandit Bhola Nath Prasanna, Ajay Prasanna carried forward his father’s legacy with grace and dedication. His flute performance was a soulful tribute to his guru, each note filled with reverence and emotion. Accompanied by the rhythmic brilliance of Pandit Mithilesh Jha and Pandit Abhishek Mishra on tabla, Ajay Prasanna’s music was a seamless blend of melody and memory, evoking the timeless spirit of the bansuri. The audience sat in quiet admiration as the music washed over them, creating a moment of connection between past and present.
