Yellow alert issued for heavy rains in State

Monsoon is active in Jharkhand. Most of the districts of the state including Ranchi have been receiving intermittent heavy rains since Tuesday. The rain continues on Wednesday as well. Apart from Santhal, there may be heavy rains in some places in Koderma, Giridih, Hazaribagh, Dhanbad, Bokaro. For this, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert.

Meteorologist Abhishek Anand of Meteorological Center Ranchi said that the southwest monsoon has covered the whole of India. Its actual date is July 8, but six days earlier, the monsoon has covered the entire country.

According to the Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation is also forming in eastern Bihar. Apart from this, a turf is being formed, which is moving from North Punjab towards Mizoram. The effect of both systems is also visible in Jharkhand. Due to this, there will be good rain till July 5. There will be some reduction in rain from July 6. After this, there will be light to moderate rain.

Heavy rain is expected in most areas of Santhal on July 3 and July 4. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Gumla, Ramgarh, Ranchi and Khunti.

Anand told that 93.8 mm of rain was recorded in Jharkhand till July 2. The normal rainfall is 206.5 mm. Right now there is 55 percent less rain. This deficit is likely to be made up in July. According to the Meteorological Department, till Tuesday, July 2, the least rain has been received in Pakur.

The normal rainfall here is 247.2 mm, but till now only 38.9 mm of rain has been received. There is a variation of 84 percent in total. The highest rainfall of 257.3 mm has been received in Simdega.
