Saturday, 27 July 2024 | PNS | Lucknow

The Yogi Adityanath government is taking significant steps to equip students with future-ready skills by integrating skill development from an early age. On Friday, children received vital information on skill development and its benefits under the Basic Education department’s ‘Shiksha Saptah’ programme.

It is noteworthy that the UP government is continuously making efforts to create an excellent educational environment to make the state a ‘Nipun Pradesh’ through council schools. Skill development is also becoming a part of this process.

Following the directives of the Union Education Ministry, UP’s Basic Education department is celebrating ‘Shiksha Saptah’ from July 22 to 28/29 in all council schools of the state. Various activities are being organised each day as part of this initiative. Every day of ‘Shiksha Saptah’ involves children in a specific activity.

On the fifth day of the ‘Shiksha Saptah’, the Basic Education department celebrated ‘Skill and Digital Initiatives Day’. During this time, children were provided with information related to skills, and council teachers uniquely presented this to shape their future. Throughout the day-long programme, information crucial for determining the children’s future was imparted.

On the fifth day of the ‘Shiksha Saptah’, children had the opportunity to practice skills in communication, sales techniques and marketing strategies. They were taught about the incredible history of specific historical sites, along with their cultural significance. Agriculture and the natural environment were showcased, inspiring the children to learn by observing.

Additionally, they were introduced to household tasks such as cooking, cleaning and gardening. Children were encouraged to innovate and attempt to develop technical solutions. Participants had the chance to display and improve their skills, while also gaining knowledge about media, entertainment, animation and digital mediums. They were introduced to design thinking and familiarised with problem-solving processes. Moreover, tips were provided on reaching creative solutions by focusing on needs and perspectives.

Furthermore, children also had the opportunity to learn the basics of clay skills. They received tips on making items from bamboo crafts and creating bags from waste materials, while professionals explained the importance of career and skill development.
