Women voters outnumber men in Chhattisgarh

Women voters outnumber men in Chhattisgarh, the Election Commission said on Thursday after a special revision of electoral rolls.

There are 1,03,32,115 women voters, 1,01,80,405 men and 732 belong to the third gender.

After the revision, the total number of voters has risen by 1,20,092 to 2,05,13,252, up from 2,03,93,160 in the 2023 Assembly elections.

Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale released the figures in Raipur ahead of the Lok Sabha elections due this year.

The number of first-time voters has increased by 82,732 to 5,77,184.

There are 24,109 polling stations in the state and the total projected population is 3.07 crore.
