If women are financially self-reliant, they can take their family, society, state on the path of progress. Rural tribal women of Jharkhand have been very hardworking since ancient times and have been actively participating in economic activities for a long time. The Hemant government has decided to improve this working style of the women of Jharkhand and in the last 4 years, many successful schemes have been implemented for the empowerment of women.

The government is constantly making efforts to ensure participation in trade within and outside the state, to improve the girl child education system, to provide financial strength to elderly women through pension. Keeping half the population in mind, the Hemant government is running many schemes and is working on some. Currently, half a dozen schemes being run by the government, which are focused only on the self-respect and prosperity of women, have been quite successful.

Branding of the products produced by self-help groups by linking them with the Palash brand has opened the doors of employment for women in rural areas. During the Covid period, Jharkhand was also affected by the global economic crisis, but now the situation is improving, a living example of which is the Palash brand.

So far, 29 different types of products are being made available for sale in the open market through the successful Palash branding and marketing strategy being implemented under the guidance of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. A total of Rs 3982.00 lakh has been sold in less than three years. So far, more than one lakh rural women of the state's self-help groups are increasing their income by joining the Palash brand by supplying their agricultural products and other processing, packaging and sales work and are giving impetus to the rural economy and connecting it to the mainstream. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, "Palash Enterprises Company" is being formed for purely commercial operation of the Palash brand, which has become the identity of the products of rural women.

Lakhs of women of Jharkhand are getting benefits from these schemes. In the last 4 years, despite the Corona period, women have become very prosperous in economic matters. The Hemant government has recently announced to give Rs 1000 every month to all women between 21 and 50 years of age. Work is being done to connect about 50 lakh women with this scheme. This scheme is being run with the aim of bearing the expenses of their daily needs by the government. Through various schemes, the Hemant government is working towards connecting with every woman of the state.

Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana (JMMSY) is an effective step of the Hemant government to promote women's self-respect. Under this, women between 21 and 50 years of age will be provided financial assistance of Rs 1000 per month keeping in mind their daily needs. Under the scheme, by the 15th of every month, the government will credit the amount to the single linked bank account of the sisters. Under this scheme, the eligibility for the beneficiaries has been kept simple. The applicant should be a resident of Jharkhand, their age should be more than 21 years and less than 50 years. The applicant should have a single bank account linked to Aadhaar. Those whose bank account is not linked to Aadhaar can also avail the benefits of the scheme till December 2024. Provided there is a voter ID card and Aadhaar card. The applicant's family should be a holder of Antyodaya Anna Yojana (yellow ration card), Purvikta Prapt Grihastha Card (pink ration card) / kerosene ration card (white ration card) / separate green ration card of Jharkhand state. To run the scheme on a war footing, the work of taking applications will be done by setting up camps across the state from August 3. The application form and process are free.

This scheme is being seen as an effort of the Hemant government to encourage women and improve their education. Work is underway on a plan to connect 9 lakh adolescent girls with Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana in this financial year. At present, about 8 lakh girl students are getting its benefit. Under the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana, financial assistance of up to Rs 40,000 is given by the government in a total of 5 installments. This assistance starts from class eight and continues till they reach class 12. Under this scheme, every school girl studying in class 8 to 12 in a government school is given a financial assistance of Rs 2,500 in class eight, Rs 2,500 in class 9, Rs 5,000 in class 10, Rs 5,000 in class 11 and Rs 5,000 in class 12 in their bank account. When the girl turns 18 and her voter ID card is made, she is given a lump sum of Rs 20,000 so that she can become self-reliant by pursuing further studies or taking some training with that money.
