A woman had a miraculous escape on Saturday when she got stuck in a small portion of a flyover here after her scooter was reportedly hit by a car. Two persons, who tried to pull her out, were also trapped. Timely action by the local police and fire department saved all three. They suffered minor injuries.
The incident happened this afternoon when the woman was going towards Sector 62 on her two-wheeler. She met with an accident after ramming into a speeding car due to which she fell into the open portion of a pillar, Noida Additional DCP Manish Kumar Mishra said. Two persons went down to help the woman but also got stuck there, he said. The car driver sped away from the site.
Soon after getting information, teams of police and fire department reached the spot and rescued all three of them, the additional DCP said. They did not suffer any major injuries. The woman was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, he said.
It was learnt the incident took place at about 12 pm. The woman was flung at least five feet in the air after the collision and fell down from the flyover and got trapped in the gap. She was fortunate not to crash on the ground below. The rescue teams pressed a JCB into service to reach the trapped woman and other two and safely pulled them out.
