WCR did maximum maintenance of 132 coaches, 561 wagons in month of April

Periodic overhauling work was done in railway factories located in Bhopal and Kota of West Central Railway under the guidance of General Manager Shobhana Bandopadhyay.

Maintenance of the maximum number of coaches and wagons in the first month of the current financial year in the maintenance depot under the leadership of the manager was done and has performed brilliantly.

The CRWS/Bhopal WRS in the first month of the current financial year, April 2024 and a total of 693 coaches and wagons were periodically overhauled in both WRS and Kota factories, which included Carriage Remanufacturing Factory Bhopal maintained 132 coaches and Kota Wagon Repair.

The workshop carried out maintenance work of 561 wagons. In which CRWS and Bhopal have so far received the highest number. Performed brilliantly by doing periodic overhauling. However, in the month of April, both the factories

performed better by doing periodic overhauling in excess of targets.

It is notable that West Central Railway did periodic overhauling (outturn) of a total of 8181 coaches and wagons was done in 2023-24, which is the highest till date.

It is noteworthy that POH of coaches in CRWS Bhopal and POH of wagons in WRS Kota is done.

The tasks performed during Periodic overhauling (POH) are body and under gear of coaches and wagons are repaired, thereby ensuring safety in operation.

 All parts of trolleys and bogies under coaches and wagons are repaired, which is very important from a safety point of view.

All parts of the air brake system and buffers on both sides of the wagons and coaches are repaired so that there is increased safety and jerk free riding experience. Wheels and axles are repaired and maintained, which increases safety.
