Vice President to inaugurate 66th Akhil Bharatiya Kalidas Samaroh

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the chief guest at the 66th Akhil Bharatiya Kalidas Ceremony being organized in Ujjain on Tuesday.

Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will also attend the ceremony. The programme will start at 4 pm and cultural programmes will be presented at 7 pm. On Wednesday, the first session of the National Research Seminar based on Panch Mahabhuta discussion in the literature of Mahakavi Kalidas will be organized at 10 am, National Research Seminar under Vikram University at 2 pm and Pandit Suryanarayan Vyas lecture series will be organized at 5 pm.

After this, a dance drama based on Shastradharma style inspired by traditional style will be presented at 7 pm. Earlier, on Monday, the Mangal Kalash Yatra was taken out and the Nandi-bhakti music programme was organized at Kalidas Academy.

 

On Thursday, the second session of the research seminar, there will be a lecture series Kutumba Vyavasha, and Hindi play Vasant Sena. On November 15, on the third session of the seminar, there will be a lecture series – Kalidas’s environmental thinking, folk singing and presentation of drama Abhigyan Shakuntalam.

On November 16, there will be a presentation of Sanskrit Kavi Samvay, an Inter-University Sanskrit Debate Competition and folk dance.

On November 17, there will be an inter-college Kalidas poetry recitation, an inter-college Hindi debate competition, and classical singing. The concluding programme of the ceremony will be held on November 18 at 4:30 pm. After this, a concert in classical style will be organized at 7 pm.

Personalities to be honoured

This year, Kalidas Alankaran Samman for 2022-2023 will be conferred on Pt. Uday Bhavalkar Pune (2022), Pt. Arvind Parekh Mumbai (2023), Dr. Sandhya Purecha Mumbai (2022) for classical dance, Guru Kalavati Devi Manipur (2023), P.R. Daroch Delhi for Arts and Crafts (2022), Shri Raghupathi Bhatt Mysore (2023), Bhanu Bharti Rajasthan (2022) and Rudraprasad Sen Gupta Kolkata (2023) for drama.

Thrill of skydiving

During the Kalidas Festival being held in Ujjain, visitors can enjoy the thrill of the Sky Diving Festival organized by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board. For three months, tourists will be able to get the thrilling experience of seeing the city of Mahakal by jumping from a height of 10 thousand feet at the Datana Air Strip of Ujjain.
