VD Sharma listens to Prime Minister's Mann ki Baat at the polling booth

Joining party workers in the state capital to listen to a key broadcast by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, Bharatiya Janata Party state unit chief Vishnudutt Sharma urged party ranks to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31.

Renewing the call given by Prime Minister Modi, Sharma told party functionaries to also mark the birth anniversary of tribal leader Birsa Munda on November 15. The provincial chief of the ruling party was listening to the Prime Minister's Mann ki Baat broadcast at booth number 223 of Ward 30 at Chuna Bhatti.

Sharma said that the BJP government will celebrate both occasions with great fervour in the state. Sardar Patel and Birsa Munda were individuals who dedicated their lives to the nation, he said. During the broadcast, Modi described young people engaged in the sphere of animation as a valuable asset for the country and congratulated them on the occasion of World Animation Day on October 28.

Present at the event were state general secretary and MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani, state media in-charge Ashish Usha Agarwal, district president Sumit Pachauri, mandal president Priyesh Upadhyay, booth president Manjeet Kaur, and several other party functionaries and workers.Modi also spoke of the "vocal for local" theme, which he described as crucial for the emergence of a self-reliant India. Sharma, too, underlined the Prime Minister's efforts for the creation of a self-reliant nation.

The Prime Minister urged everyone to buy goods from local vendors during the Diwali festival and other occasions. Sharma said that Swami Vivekananda also spoke of ideas that contributed to the vision of a self-reliant India, which the Prime Minister is now striving to realise.Sharma expressed confidence that people would heed the advice of the Prime Minister and shop with a "vocal for local" mindset during the Diwali season.

The Prime Minister has also expressed concern about digital arrests and digital fraud in today's era, advising that one should pause, think, and then take action when faced with such a situation.Sharma mentioned that Prime Minister Modi has noted that many countries around the world are adopting Indian culture. Through animation, Indian culture is gaining global recognition, while virtual tourism is also being promoted. Prime Minister Modi has called on everyone, especially the youth, to join the Feed India mission to support the country. He also mentioned that the broadcast addressed fitness awareness by highlighting the increasing awareness of fitness in the country, said Sharma.
