As part of Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) campaign period 2024, SAIL, Ranchi has organized a two-day workshop on ‘360° Vigilance,’ focusing on Preventive Vigilance, Conducting CTE type examinations, Investigation Techniques, and Complaint Management.
This workshop was inaugurated at MTI Ranchi on October 4, 2024 by the Vigilance Commissioner A S Rajeev, Secretary CVC P Daniel, Chairman SAIL, Amrendu Prakash, CMD Mecon Sanjay Kumar Verma and CVO SAIL S N Gupta. Also present were distinguished dignitaries namely Director Personnel, K K Singh, ED Vigilance SAIL Sanjay Sharma, ED CET Shrawan Kumar Verma, ED (Digital Transformation) Ved Prakash, ED (RDCIS) S K Kar, CVO Mecon Satish Kumar, CVO CMPDI Sumeet Kr Sinha, CVO CCL Pankaj Kumar.
CVO SAIL Gupta welcomed all the dignitaries and participants. He briefed the audience about the workshop and the importance of the vigilance awareness week campaign period. Chairman SAIL, Prakash urged the participants that they should not be afraid to take a call whenever making decisions. They should justify their decisions by making proper noting in support of their decision.
P Daniel, Secretary CVC brought out the history of formation of the Central Vigilance Commission and its roles and responsibilities in a very lucid manner. The matters referred to the commission are examined to determine whether there was any malafide intention was there in decision making and advises accordingly.
A S Rajeev, Vigilance Commissioner stressed that preventive maintenance are of utmost importance and we need to bridge the gaps through systemic improvement measures. Further he emphasized the need for proper documentation of the decision making process.
The program was attended by a large section of Vigilance executives from SAIL, Mecon, CCL and CMPDI, as well as executives of SAIL, Ranchi based units. Archana Sharan, GM(RDCIS) was the master of ceremonies and conducted the proceedings smoothly.
