Congratulating officials for action against power theft, Energy Minister Pradyumn Singh Tomar on Friday said that strict measures against large defaulters and institutions caught stealing electricity would send a positive message.
He encouraged the formation of teams to catch electricity theft and warned that failure to do so would imply the officers' complicity.
Tomar announced that he would personally honor the Jabalpur team during a review of the works of the Eastern Region Electricity Distribution Company.Tomar urged officials to ensure that billing is based on meter readings and underlined the need for prompt resolution of consumer complaints.The minister said that a team would be sent to inspect the stock to ensure the availability of all necessary materials. He added that a panchnama for packing has to be filled out for seized meters.He called for efforts to reduce distribution losses, encouraging good performance and not punishing staff with transfers for poor work.
