Three bike riders died after colliding with a car in Narmadapuram on Sunday night at around 10:15. The accident took place on Sankheda four-lane road Betul-Obedullaganj National Highway 46 near Itarsi.
The Swift Dzire car was going at a high speed from Nagpur to Bhopal. The motorcyclist drove the bike from the wrong side on the four-lane. The driver could not control the speed of the car as the bike came on the wrong side. The collision was so severe that all three bike riders tossed for around 10 ft before hitting the road. The car was also badly damaged.
The deceased were identified as Nandlal Patel (58), Gopaldas Patel (55), resident of Sankheda and Rajendra Yadav (45), resident of Purani Itarsi area.
Gopaldas Patel was a farmer by profession. He also used to sell milk.
All three bike riders were returning from Rasalpur.
Thakurlal Chaudhary said that his brother-in-law Gopaldas Patel and Nandlal Patel lived in the same locality in Sankheda. Rajendra Yadav alias Raju lived in Diwan Colony of old Itarsi. Nandlal used to work as a laborer at a warehouse plant in Itarsi. Gopaldas Patel used to work as a farmer and sell milk. Raju Yadav also used to work as a laborer. All three were returning from a program in Rasalpur on the same bike.
TI Gaurav Bundela of Itarsi City Police Station said that all three bike riders were brought to the hospital but they had died. Postmortems of all three bodies were conducted on Monday morning.
The family from Nagpur was going to Bhopal by car, all escaped unhurt.
Itarsi police have registered a case against the driver of the car (MH31 FX 0544). According to the police, the family sitting in the car is safe. They did not suffer any injuries. However, the car has been damaged from the front. The family was going from Nagpur to Bhopal.
