Telangana youth blackmailed, Rs 5 lakh extorted

A case of blackmailing and extortion of Rs 5 lakh from a Telangana based youth has been reported in the state capital. Sukhi Sewania police have registered an FIR against the woman on the complaint of the victim for blackmailing, using abusive language and threatening to kill.

The accused woman has extorted money from the complainant by threatening to implicate him in a rape case. She was demanding another five lakh rupees. When she did not give it, she has registered a rape case in Chhola Mandir police station.

The complainant had filed a private complaint of blackmailing in the court. The court had ordered an investigation into the matter. After investigation, Sukhi Sewania police has registered an FIR. The police have started searching for the accused woman.

According to Sukhi Sewania police, the 27-year-old youth hails from Telangana. He lives in a colony in Sukhi Sewania, Bhopal. A complaint was filed by him in the court against the 32-year-old woman. According to the complaint, the accused woman has previously been a contract worker in his office where they became friends.

Once both of them went to watch a movie. On 1 January 2020, both of them went to visit Bhojpur temple where the girl proposed him for marriage. He said yes, till then he was not aware that the girl was already married. After some time he went to meet her at her house where he came to know that the girlfriend was already married and also had a child from the marriage.

As soon as the young man came to know that his girlfriend was already married, he stopped all kinds of communication. Due to this, disputes started between the two and later the girl forced him to marry her. She threatened to kill him if he did not agree. and also ruin his career. By intimidation, he extorted 5.35 lakh rupees in parts. The money was transferred online. The complainant gave the proof of threatening messages on WhatsApp and online money transfer. After which the police registered an FIR.

The complainant continued to harass her and on demanding more money the victim said that he did not have the money and would pay after her salary arrived. On this, the accused abused her on WhatsApp. A few days later, a rape case was registered against him at Chhola Mandir police station.

The woman lodged a rape case against the young man, the complainant in the blackmailing case, in May this year. In the FIR, she accused the young man of sexually assaulting her in the room after sedating her with a cold drink at an acquaintance's wedding. Evidence was presented in the court on behalf of the complainant that he was in his district in Telangana ten days before the date of the FIR. Evidence of this was given by the complainant.

Chola Mandir police station in-charge Suresh Chandra Nagar said that on the complaint of the 32-year-old victim, an FIR was registered against the 27-year-old accused in May. The accused in our case lived in the Sukhi Sewania area. He was arrested and sent to jail. The challan has also been presented in the case.

The victim's lawyer Yawar Khan said that this case will set an example in society, strict action should be taken against the accused for atrocities against real women. An FIR of extortion has been registered on the court's instructions against those who are commercially misusing this women's law.
