Like last year, this year too, the Jharkhand government is going to organize a two-day tribal festival on World Tribal Day at Bhagwan Birsa Smriti Udyan, Ranchi. A review meeting was held in the Kalyan Complex under the chairmanship of Welfare Minister Deepak Birua regarding the preparations for this two-day tribal festival to be held on 9-10 August.

While reviewing the preparations in the meeting, the departmental minister Birua instructed the officials to invite tribal thinkers, experts and respected persons from all over the country on the occasion of World Tribal Day. Ensure that there is no shortage in the arrangements for the arrival, accommodation etc. of the visitors and a glimpse of tribal culture and tradition is seen in the entire festival.

Welfare Commissioner Ajaynath Jha, while giving detailed information about the preparations through PPT on behalf of the department, said that all the culture and tradition related to the tribal society will be shown in the festival. He said that an exhibition of tribal culture, art and musical instruments, costumes and jewellery, Dokra art, Kohbar, Sohrai and many other arts along with tribal history will also be organized. Stalls of tribal cuisine will also be set up in the festival and information about the tribal culture of other countries will be given through film.

Jha said that a seminar on forest rights lease is being organized in the tribal festival and an exhibition of all the schemes related to the Scheduled Tribe community will be organized. Films made on the tribal subject by TRI will also be screened.

It was informed in the meeting that during the festival, the guest will be welcomed with 100 drum beats and dance troupes of 32 tribal communities will participate in the Shobha Yatra. Famous tribal music and dance will be presented in the program and books will be released by TRI. Art groups from different states are being invited.

Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha, Director Sports Sandeep Kumar, Director Culture Asif Ikram, Director ITDA Sanjay Bhagat, Deputy Director Tourism Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Assistant Director, Directorate of Information and Public Relations Biru Kushwaha, Company Secretary of Jharkhand Film Corporation Aman Kumar were present in the meeting.
