Home Minister Amit Shah's rally, which was scheduled on Thursday in Haryana’s Gurugram, has been cancelled due to some unknown reason. He was going to address a public meeting in support of party candidate and incumbent MP Rao Inderjit Singh.
According to party leaders, senior leaders of the BJP, including Shah, were scheduled to address a public meeting in Gurgaon on Thursday evening which has now been cancelled. Senior party functionaries on Wednesday said all three rallies scheduled in Haryana's three constituencies on Thursday in Gurgaon and on Friday in Rohtak and Karnal have been cancelled.
However, the party functionaries did not disclose the reasons behind the cancellation. Haryana will go to polls on May 25 and incumbent MP Rao Inderjit Singh is eyeing a third win from the Gurgaon seat, after having won from there in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Meanwhile, the BJP candidate Rao Inderjit Singh is busy in his stormy elections campaign in his constituency. On Wednesday Rao addressed public meetings in village Garhi Harsur, Sadharana, Chandu-Buhra, Makdola, Kaliyawas, Iqbalpur, Sultanpur, Jhanjharela Kheda, Mubarikpur, Farrukhnagar, Khentawas, Saidpur, Mohammadpur, Dhanawas, Patli, Hajipur, Judaula in the Gurgaon constituency.
While addressing people, he said that huge development was conducted in the entire area during his tenure. "Work has been done to connect Farrukhnagar and Manesar areas by rail. In the coming days, people of Manesar to Pataudi area will also get the benefits of Orbital Rail Corridor and Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS). This entire area is going to be connected to passenger train service in the coming days," Rao said.
Attacking Congress, Rao said "Congress is trying to mislead the people by abolishing the Constitution and ending reservation. BJP has no such intention. In the last 10 years, there has been rapid development in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Further, he urged the voters to cast their vote for BJP to continue this pace of development. He said, “It is important that we once again cooperate in forming the Modi government at the Centre. Prime Minister Modi's goal is to include the country among the first three world economic powers by 2047, after the completion of 100 years of the country's independence."
