Several water bodies flowing above danger mark in MP

Several water bodies are flowing over danger mark in the state after heavy to very heavy rainfall. Water is being released by opening the gates of 10 big dams like Bargi, Bansagar. Bargi dam in Jabalpur is 94 percent full, 17 out of 21 sluice gates of Bargi dam were opened up to 2.03 meters on Sunday. Their height was increased to 2.44 meters at 6 pm on Monday.

Two people died due to drowning while taking selfies in Gaudham reservoir in Bina, Sagar. A disabled youth died after a house collapse in Satna.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain in Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, Gwalior, Chambal division in the next 24 hours. According to this, Rajgarh, Barwani, Burhanpur, Omkareshwar of Khandwa, Maheshwar of Khargone, Alirajpur, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Jhabua are likely to receive moderate rain while Bhopal, Sehore, Ujjain, Agar-Malwa, Shajapur, Dewas are likely to receive light rain.

Weather is also expected to change in Indore, Mandu of Dhar, Betul, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Rewa, Balaghat, Seoni, Mandla, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Harda, Vidisha, Bhimbetka and Sanchi of Raisen, Pachmarhi of Narmadapuram, Narsinghpur, Sagar districts.

Half a dozen houses built on the banks of Motichur river in Bina's new colony were flooded.

Six pilgrims from Dhar who went on Kedarnath Yatra were rescued by army helicopters.

The search for the youth who was swept away in Katta river in Chhindwara is continuing for the second day today.

The NDRF rescued 18 people who were stranded on the island.

The monsoon entered the state on June 21. Monsoon had covered the entire state in just a week, since then there has been a period of heavy rain. Due to this, there has been 20 percent more rain so far.

The western part of the state - Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Chambal, Ujjain and Narmadapuram divisions have received 22% more rain than the average and the eastern part - Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol and Sagar divisions have received 17% more rain than the average. Before the current system, there was less rain in the eastern part.

Heavy rains have been continuing in the state for the last 4 days. Due to this, water has overflowed from 10 big dams. Bhopal's big pond has also filled up. Here on Sunday, 2 sluice gates of Bhadbhada were opened for the second time. Gates of Kaliyasot Dam were opened for the fourth time in the season.

Gates of Kolar Dam were also opened for the third time in the season. The gates of Tawa Dam in Narmadapuram, Rajghat Dam in Ashoknagar, Bargi Dam in Jabalpur, Barna Dam in Raisen, Halali Dam in Vidisha, Machagora Dam in Chhindwara have also been opened.

Chambal and Parvati rivers are in spate in Sheopur. The bridges and causeways on Khatauli Kota Highway and Sheopur-Kuhanjapur Baran Highway have been submerged in water. Traffic on these routes has completely stopped.

Due to the ongoing surge in Chambal and Parvati rivers, Sundi and Sandh villages have become islands. The water level of the river is continuously rising in Sundi village, surrounded by Parvati river from all sides, in view of this, the SDRF team has started the rescue operation with the help of motor boat on Monday.

The villagers of Sandh village, surrounded by Chambal river, are not ready to come out of the village because the water of Chambal is still quite far from the village.

Water has been released by opening 13 sluice gates of Bargi Dam built on Narmada river in Jabalpur district. Due to this the Narmada river is in spate.

Narmada water is going over the Kakra Ghat bridge connecting Gadarwara and Tendukheda in Narsinghpur district. Due to this, traffic on Gadarwara-Tendukheda road has been stopped.
